The UK is set to progress with using the entire amount of seized Russia's funds to bolster the Ukrainian military campaign, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a joint statement, the officials of the Britain, France, and Germany asserted that this joint measure would increase strain on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and urge Russia to come to the table.

They added that the decision would be executed in close cooperation with the America.

United Kingdom penalties have frozen in excess of £25bn of Russia's assets since the Russian government initiated its comprehensive attack against Ukraine in 2022. Yet, previously, resources allocated to the Ukrainian government using Russia's assets had solely been sourced from profits and interest generated on them.

Sir Keir informed President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were united in their desire to drive progress toward utilizing the full value of the frozen Russian sovereign funds to end the war.

He stated that more restrictions over the next period would increase the strain on the Russian government.

This announcement is subsequent to European Union officials convened in Copenhagen previously to debate employing seized Russian holdings for a 140-billion-euro credit to Ukraine.
