England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the upcoming Young Sports Personality of the Year award.

The three finalists have been celebrated for their outstanding achievements over the last year.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses claim victory in Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a record-breaking innings.

Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his remarkable rise.

The three contenders were revealed during a live broadcast on a popular morning radio program.

The 2025 recipient will be unveiled on the Sports Personality of the Year show on the 18th of December.

The event will be televised from seven in the evening GMT.

Agyemang's Profile

A mere three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to winning the Euros.

She was introduced as a substitute to score crucial late equalisers in both the knockout stage games.

Her incredible contributions led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.

Afterwards, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the top young European talent.

She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.

Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.

"Being nominated for this honour is an honour," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."

Littler's Profile

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler's 2025 began in sensational style as - while still 17 - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.

He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.

And he wasn't finished there - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the first time.

At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, shattering the previous record.

"Earning a spot on the shortlist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a big honour," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a highlight for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."

Perrin's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and rose to fame with an remarkable and historic innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.

It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.

Perrin finished second in the batting rankings and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.

"I'm deeply humbled to be shortlisted for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it motivates more girls to get into cricket."
