The President Welcomes Relatives of Injured Military Members to the White House

President Donald Trump revealed on Sunday that he has extended an invitation the relatives of a Guard member fatally shot last week to visit the White House.

He added that he contacted her family and they were “devastated”.

Information on the Heartbreaking Event

US army specialist Beckstrom, twenty years old, was killed in a attack on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her colleague, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, is still in the hospital in critical condition.

Memorials across West Virginia have been held in their honor.

Presidential Call

The president stated he’s discussed a visit to the White House for the families of both individuals of the state National Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a tough thing, visit the White House. We’re going to honor her,” Trump informed journalists. “And in the same way with him, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Reaction

Attendees gathered over the weekend at Webster County high school in the state to honor Sarah.

Both the soldiers had been fulfilling duties with the state guard as part of Trump’s federal initiative to assist law enforcement in Washington DC.

Honoring Sarah Beckstrom

“Sarah was the kind of student that teachers hoped for. She carried herself with quiet strength, a warm expression and a optimistic attitude that lifted people around her,” the principal, the head of her alma mater, told the media. “She was caring, considerate and always eager to help others.”

Memorial details for Sarah are still being arranged.

Legal Measures and Government Revisions

Officials have indicted a 29-year-old Afghan national with one count of murder and charges of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.

The tragedy prompted the administration to pause asylum processing and cease issuing entry permits to owners of travel documents.

Condition of the Airman

Wolfe, a resident of the city, began his service in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman high school, as reported by the AP.

He is still undergoing care and is “battling to survive”, the state’s leader Patrick Morrisey said on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Attorney general Pam Bondi informed a news show that she aimed to meet with the family.

Impact of Sarah Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County High in 2023 and enlisted soon after, working as a MP with honor, according to the state guard.

“She had a lot of compassion and she certainly had bravery,” he addressed the gathering at the service. “Though her time ended too soon, she has left a mark that’s going to endure.”
