Esteemed Actor Pat Finn, Recognized For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Dies at the Age of Sixty.
American entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in iconic TV shows like Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in LA recently after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, per media reports.
"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones stated in a announcement.
They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".
A Notable Career on Screen
His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the lead character's sibling.
He was also seen in a recurring role on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, depicting a social organizer famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several popular shows, including:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
His most famous role for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.
His cinematic roles encompass It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".
Off-Screen Life
Beyond his television work, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was a member of a six-member improv team known as "Beer Shark Mice".
"Pat taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find anyone who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.
Offering condolences, colleague and actor Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," he posted on social media.
Finn is survived by his partner Donna, three children, and his family.
