Week 10 once more provided excitement, with a major surprise for the Buffalo Bills demonstrating the 'any given Sunday' saying that attracts so many fans into the National Football League

This outcome could have created things up for the Patriots to move back into a leading position they formerly held, with a remaining games that provides them an edge over their eight and two competitors

Over in the NFC the Seattle Seahawks and Rams had ideal outcomes to arrange a major confrontation next week, while our top performer is pursuing milestones as well as the MVP award

Analysis - Just a Bad Day for Buffalo?

Josh Allen in action
Was Josh Allen try too much or was it just a poor performance for the Bills?

Could it simply have been an emotional letdown from beating the Chiefs last week or something more? That's the question for the Buffalo team to answer

The Bills had won seven in a consecutive games against Miami but were second best from the beginning as the Miami team ran out 30-13 winners in an eye-opening outcome - and display

MVP quarterback Josh Allen only got the squad's opening first down in the third quarter and initial scoring in the final quarter - yes the Dolphins had ten days to prepare but it was nonetheless a significant failure laid by one of the NFL's top offences

Tua Tagovailoa passed for two scores but rusher Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 total yards and two touchdowns

Containing the NFL's top running game was also key, with James Cook and company recording just eighty-six yards, their lowest of the year and just over half their 161.5-yard average

Additionally there were the three crucial turnovers, and the pair from Allen in particular. An interception in the scoring area meaning a nine minute possession produced nothing, and his final quarter fumble that the Dolphins converted to a touchdown just two plays

It was classic 'old Buffalo' as they shot themselves in the foot, falling into a deficit on defensive side and Allen trying to do too much to rescue his squad out of it - rather than the composed, disciplined, balanced Bills we've witnessed this year

Miami have demonstrated a varied performances this year so the jury's out on if this is the start of something, but for Buffalo they'll require an immediate bounce-back in a tough game against the Buccaneers next week as the New England are quietly moving into a nice lead at the top of the AFC East

Spotlight - New England See Path to Surprise Top Seed

Speaking of the New England, they're one of three 8-2 teams in the NFL, all American Football Conference sides, but could they be the top team?

One could find flaws in the Patriots, the Broncos and the Colts really for feasting on the weaker opponents, with only five of their total 24 victories achieved against opponents with a positive record - and one of those was the Colts beating the Broncos

The Broncos beat the champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are kings of the final quarter while Indianapolis can rely on Taylor, but the Patriots including Sunday's win in Tampa to their primtime win in Buffalo appears to be a statement

Their two defeats came in new head coach Mike Vrabel's initial three contests, with seven consecutive wins, similar to Denver, from that point - but defeating Baker Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a week off to get ready was huge

Maye's MVP claims continue to be discussed, and he certainly deserves point for bravery after absorbing some hard tackles in Tampa Bay but persevering to steer his team to success

The defensive unit is solid and first-year rusher Henderson exploded on Sunday with 147 rushing yards and two exciting scores of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - becoming just the fifth runner to break 22mph this season on his first score

Although you can debate who 'the top team' is technically, the Pats should be favourites to end with the best record due to their remaining opponents - which includes just one game against a winning team, albeit a significant contest against the Bills

Traveling to Baltimore is challenging too, but the Broncos have it more difficult in the AFC West with the Kansas City to play twice, the Chargers (who might also compete for first place but encounter the same problem) and additionally the Packers on the schedule

The Indianapolis also play the Chiefs, and have the Seahawks, San Francisco and two matchups with the 5-4 Jaguars to face. There's a considerable distance to travel but the opportunity is open for a surprise top seed in the American Football Conference

Next Week - Los Angeles and Seattle Prepare for Next Week Clash

Both squads with solid claims to be superior to all of the three different eight and two teams are National Football Conference West opponents the Seattle and Rams, who each scored forty points to go to seven and two ahead of the upcoming Hollywood blockbuster game between the pair in Los Angeles

They've both secured four victories in a consecutive games, have quarterbacks in Matthew Stafford and Darnold performing at an high standard (although Darnold had turnover issues on game day) with excellent pass catchers, and defensive units allowing fewer than twenty points a contest

Both could realistically be undefeated as too - especially the Rams as their two defeats came in overtime against the 49ers and then that agonising loss in Philadelphia when they had a potentially winning kick with the final play deflected and returned by the Philadelphia for a score

The Seahawks were also defeated to San Francisco, with a last-minute score in the opening week, before falling to the last kick of the contest against the Buccaneers - so they are truly two of the best sides in the league

The upcoming game on Sunday could be the most exciting of the year to date

Top Performer - Jonathan Taylor
